What happens when really smart people get under pressure? Josee Madison knows, and she’s on a mission to help leaders and teams catch it before it costs them a decision, a deal, or a culture!
Josee has spent her whole career in rooms where the stakes were high. She rose to become one of only ten Executive Officers at Canada’s Federal Court of Appeal. Then she traded the courtroom for the concert stage, moving to Nashville to manage artists and run national and international tours. Judges and pop stars are two very different worlds, and the same lesson: when the pressure is on, even the most capable people can react in ways that don’t reflect who they really are.
Then pressure got personal. A health challenge stopped Josee in her tracks and sparked a question that changed everything: Why do intelligent, capable people act in ways that don’t match what they know and value? That question led to more than 17 years of study and certification in neuroscience, nervous-system regulation, hypnotherapy, emotional intelligence, and human behavior. Along the way, she became a certified yoga instructor and even spent time among monks in Europe.
And she didn’t just study it, she lived it! Josee opened an award-winning wellness center in Columbia, South Carolina, just months before the pandemic hit, and led her 13-person team through one of the toughest seasons small businesses have ever faced. She later sold the business to focus fully on what she loves most: speaking and writing.
Today, Josee brings it all to the stage with her signature keynote, Wired to Wise™. She introduces WAM™ (Wired Armor Mode), the protective state that takes over before our best thinking gets a vote. With practical neuroscience, great storytelling, and plenty of humor, Josee gives audiences a simple language and a three-step tool they can use the very same day.
Audiences across the country have experienced Josee’s impact, including the Verizon Women’s Empowerment Summit, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and the South Carolina Corrections Association. She has been featured in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine as a Woman in Business, and in South Carolina Voyager, where she shared her perspective on navigating life and business.
The result? Leaders and teams who pause, think clearly, and make wiser decisions when it matters most. Because as Josee says, “self-awareness gives us something pressure never will: choice.”
Great job engaging the room. I highly recommend Josee.

Have you ever left a meeting and still felt like your shoulders were up near your ears? That’s what happens when the internal alarm doesn’t get the memo that the moment has passed.
In this keynote, Josee breaks down what happens in the brain and nervous system when pressure lingers and introduces WAM™ (Wired Armor Mode), the protective state that can quietly drive decisions, communication, and behavior.
Audiences learn how to recognize when they’re “WAMing”, identify what they may be trying to protect, and interrupt the pattern before it takes over. With practical tools, real-life examples, and humor, Josee helps people move from automatic reaction to greater self-awareness and better choices under pressure.
After Wired to Wise™, leaders will be better equipped to:
Because she’s the speaker, your attendees will still be talking about her at the next break. Josee connects with every level of your organization, from front-line staff to the C-suite, and she makes a serious topic fun, personal, and easy to remember. No wonder audiences have called her the best part of their conference!
