The band has taken their show nationwide, recently performing at Alaska’s prestigious SALMONFEST, proving their universal appeal and ability to get any crowd moving.
Cory is a seasoned singer-songwriter and guitarist who picked up the guitar at 15. Though he started later than most, he quickly mastered the blues by cutting his teeth at local Piedmont, North Carolina area blues jams. In his early-to-mid 20s, he toured nationally with country acts, gaining valuable cross-genre experience. His guitar skills are highlighted by his signature ripping slide guitar licks. His exposure to beach music came during his time as a radio DJ at a local station. As the front man, singer, and primary songwriter, Cory leads The Traveling Blues Band with passion and authenticity.
Jonathan discovered his love of music in 5th grade and knew by middle school that saxophone was his calling—despite no one else in his family being musically inclined. He dedicated himself to learning, practicing, and performing through high school, earning several awards along the way. Jonathan has performed professionally with many top 40 and beach bands for all types of occasions and is an endorsed artist with REMIC Microphones. He found his band home when he met Cory at an open jam several years ago, bringing his soulful saxophone sound to The Traveling Blues Band.
Plucked from West “By God” Virginia, Todd ran out of gas in the Carolinas and decided to call it home! He toured internationally in the 1980s throughout Russia, Romania, and Austria with a jazz ensemble before settling into classic rock and eventually “seeing the light” to play blues with Cory Luetjen and The Traveling Blues Band. His influences range from Buddy Rich to Alex Van Halen—and of course, Animal from The Muppets! Todd thrives on the adrenaline rush of a great show while keeping the beat and rhythm locked tight.
A bass player for life! Originally from Michigan, Rob became a proud North Carolina southerner and has been a musician for most of his life. He believes that music transcends genres—it’s all about what’s in the soul. His musical influences include John Entwistle of The Who, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, and many other legendary bassists who have shaped his powerful, foundational sound.
